Just when I thought Bud couldn't be any worse, I saw this gem. Its
actually for real, seen @ Shaws in Bangor. I wouldn't drink either

Thank god, it was supposedly "hot" here. A balmy 90 with little humidity. A nice change from the 98 with 98% humidity in NJ. The trip to NJ was great, good food, seeing friends & family, and I had a great time & John & Cristi's reception. Although I didn't take one picture, but everyone else had a camera so I'll just mooch off of everyone else's photos.

New York Rangers forward Sean Avery has been sent to hospital after lacerating his spleen during a playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The injury occurred after New York's 5-3 loss to the Penguins on Tuesday night. Avery was taken to St. Vincent's hospital and was admitted after a CT scan, a statement from Rangers general manager Glen Sather said.

Avery, 28, will be out of the Rangers lineup for the remainder of the season but is expected to make a full recovery, according to the team's official Website.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Web site of the New York Daily News reported that Avery was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest. The newspaper said Avery was unconscious and not breathing when he was taken to St. Vincent's.

A witness at the hospital said that Avery arrived at the medical centre at about 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

Avery had an assist on the Rangers' second goal in Tuesday's loss. The forward has a total of four goals and three assists in eight playoff games this season.

The noted agitator was also the subject of controversy earlier in the first round of the playoffs against the New Jersey Devils when he fronted Martin Brodeur in the crease and waved his stick from side to side in an attempt to screen the goaltender.

That prompted the NHL to quickly make an on-the-fly rule interpretation in an effort to eliminate that type of play.

The Rangers trail the Penguins 3-0 in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series with Game 4 scheduled for Thursday night at Madison Square Garden (7 p.m. ET, CBC, CBCSports.ca).

Since the Devils are out & my friend Frank is a Caps fan I'm now rooting for them.

It's not so much the fact that the Devils are out of the playoffs, or that they lost to the Rangers, what really pisses me off are the Devils fans. How in the hell do you let that many Rangers fans get tickets. It sounded like a home game for NY, that's really disappointing and EVERY so called Devils fan that lives in the area should be ashamed. Seriously it made me want to puke.

My question is why the hell wasn't this an unsportsmanlike call in the first place. What Avery did has nothing to do with playing hockey and was pretty much childish. He wouldn't even been able to get a rebound shot... dope.

The league acted swiftly on Monday, changing the interpretation of Rule 75 — unsportsmanlike conduct — to eliminate such activity.

"An unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty will be interpreted and applied, effective immediately, to a situation when an offensive player positions himself facing the opposition goaltender and engages in actions such as waving his arms or stick in front of the goaltender's face, for the purpose of improperly interfering with and/or distracting the goaltender as opposed to positioning himself to try to make a play," Colin Campbell, the NHL director of hockey operations said in a statement.

Vacation Update

The week at my sister's for Christmas was great. I got to spend time with my family, playing Wii, hanging out with my nieces and my sister's boxers. We ate a lot of food, went to outlets and watched a lot of movies.

Today I'm off to NJ for a week. It's been a long time since I've spent New Year's there. It should be a great time. Parties, real bagels & pizza and going to NYC museums.

I hate New England Sports Network. First of all their announcers are the biggest "homers" ever. The Bruins can do no wrong and the other team is always bad. The biggest reason is, why during the replay of the game, which I'm watching, do they show the scores in the crawler of the game you're watching? What the hell?! Usually real networks like ESPN don't do that. Yet another reason to hate Boston.

Yet another relationship in my life is changing. Brian @ Tropics North Tattoo, who's been working on my sleeve, has decided to close his shop. Apparently business hasn't been all that great the last couple of years and he's tired of fighting to stay open. He is still doing private appointments for long term projects that he's working on. So I won't be left high and dry. The kind of cool thing now is I can get tattooed like a rock star at my own place.

I picked up my latest piece from the sign shop yesterday.

It's 48" x 63" acrylic panel & vinyl lettering. It's based on something I overheard at the Richard Prince exhibition at the Guggenheim museum. When talking bout some of Price's work some guy said "That's not art. Machines don't make art, man makes art." The design of the piece is a reference to some of Prince's work. I wanted it to be like a sign to make it as machine made as possible, completely removing the artist's hand.
